A Novel Strong S-Box Design Using Quantum Crossover and Chaotic Boolean Functions for Symmetric Cryptosystems
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
In this paper, the authors presented a new and an innovative approach to generate a cryptographically strong S-box by combining the use of chaotic Boolean functions and genetic algorithms techniques. They conducted several cryptographic evaluations of the S-box and the results of the NIST statistical test suite further affirm the strength of the generated S-box. This paper provides a way to improve the potential of producing secure encryption components, which is valuable and meaningful.

Reviewer 2 Report
The work has a good finish and is very complete. Then I make the following fixes and suggestions:
1. Abbreviations such as S-box and NIST should not go in the summary. This should be clarified in the body of the paper.
2. There are writing problems in English where the sections are announced (for example, line 107-116, Section 2 must have a comma). Fix this please.
3. There is a problem with math formulas in feature 2 fields and subscripts. Line 258,260,261, 266.
4. I didn't find the explicit definition of S-box.
5. Formulas 3 and 4 are missing a comma
6. It should be clarified if nonlinearity or non-linearity is used
7. It must be clarified at the beginning of the introduction that GA is because it is used as an abbreviation.
8. Improve the quality of Figure 6
9. I suggest changing P-value to p-value, check all the text
10. Do a thorough review of English.
