The revision suggestions for the manuscript are as follows:

(1)Issue with Sample Grouping: The manuscript uses all samples for model training (Figure 2) and lacks a separate set of samples for model validation. Consequently, it is impossible to quantitatively assess the inversion effectiveness of the model. It is recommended to randomly divide the samples into two groups: one for model training and the other for model validation. Additionally, both the model training and validation results should be presented in the scatter plot (Figure 2).

(2)Sample Distribution Issue: The samples in the manuscript are primarily collected from the southern area of Gibert Bay, where chlorophyll-a (chla) concentrations are relatively low (Figure 2). However, there is a lack of samples from Gunnison Bay in the north, where chla concentrations are higher. As a result, the model trained on these samples may exhibit significant errors and uncertainties when applied to predict chla distribution in Gunnison Bay, especially when chla concentrations exceed 100 micrograms per liter (μg/L). The manuscript should discuss this limitation.
