Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In this article, the authors proposed a color constancy processing method for China's HY-1C images. As for the interesing works, solid methodology preparation and convincing results, I think this paper is ready for accept by Remote Sensing. However, there are several minor changes need to be fixed.

  1. Careful checks for figures preparation is recommended, some texts in some figures are blurring, and the text font type and size are not consistent in some figures, e.g., fig.(3), fig.(12), fig.(15).
  2. Careful checks for executions are also recommended, please kept them in the same type and size. eg., eq.(10).
  3. The references citation style may also need corrected, your paper started with [24-26].

Dear authors,

this paper is interesting and well designed. However, there are some issues which should/could be improved.

First off literature citation should be in numerical order how they appear in article. Line 26 first are mentioned references [24-26] while they should be [1-3]. For easier literature citation you can use some of available software (Mendeley, etc.)

Next, based on instruction for authors: "SI Units (International System of Units) should be used. Imperial, US customary and other units should be converted to SI units whenever possible." Please correct all of the images which has miles on scale bar.

Line 81 - why did you convert into Antarctic Polar Stereographic coordinate systems. How does this affect your study or results?

Figure 3 it seems like histogram of Image 1 in all bands does not shows the top of the hill. Please expand area which is shown.

Figure 5 left flow chart (or process) some of the text is overlapping with bounding box, please correct it.

Figure 8 some of the text is overlapping with lines, please check.

Figure 12 is not readable when it is on 100% zoom, maybe divide it into two parts.

Please support Conclusion chapter with results.

After this minor correction, article is suitable for publication.
