Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The research focus is an insightful one that stretched across both theoretical and practical perspective. The manuscripts is a good attempt that investigates the social sciences side of environmental/sustainability actions and behaviours, drawing an important focus on leadership.

The first part of the manuscripts provided an appropriate conceptual context to the case described; however, the conceptual understanding did not go beyond the description of the related theories to forming a framework/construct that relates the types and processes of leadership development and the role and importance of local knowledge under the scope of environmental or sustainability management. As a result, the discussion on the case study findings made little reference to the conceptual context as a whole. While the discussion described various reflections and implications of the interview and survey results, the discussion could not provide an overarching/holistic articulation of the conceptual context as a whole.

This gap has made the manuscripts a good documentation of an interesting case instead of a scholarly debates with strong academic rigor.
