Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This study aims to describe the results of a questionnaire that evaluates the appreciation of healthy food in a Greek university community. However the work has serios limitations and flaws that need to be improved in order to consider this draft for publication.

First of all: The main variable: Perception, is not related or associated to anything else.... not a single association was made to see, how this perception was related to other variables and which variables were more significant to shape the perception.

Second, even though, two clusters were described, the clusters were created through statistics methods and not through qualitative methods based on the results of the questionnaire... they were invented, and their name is not even clear nor represents anything real. What do they really represent?.... This needs to be validated through the questionnaire and score of the questionnaire. Plus, the value differences between clusters were not statistically analyzed, so, we don´t even know in which aspects they significatively differ.

Third, the whole work lacks of a specific goal, and validation of what the results of the questionnaire represent.

Four, discussion must be also improved accordingly.

I urge for a complete revision of the main and specific aims and re-analyze in a better and more complete form the whole results.

English needs to be improved.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Nice study as the authors have conceived. One concern is I did not find the ethical approval code for the collection of the human data. Or did I have miss it somehow?

Another question relates to the decision on your power. How did the authors did the power calculation for used number of questionnaire or subjects?

Minor comments:

line 227-231: error. present unexpected "table"

how the two clusters in table 2 were decided?

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

In the study authors investigated the perceptions and attitudes of the members of a university community in city of Ioannina (Greece) on health itself, healthy eating, and healthy eating campaigns today. The research was conducted via a questionnaire survey electronically, and 1406 members-consumers, participated. On obtained data the statistical analyses were performed and from this the conclusions were made.

The study is important because it gives a new data on the perceptions of a particular group on the subject of food and health. The authors very well mentioned limitations of the study but still it gives important data on this subject.

The study itself is well designed and conducted and the obtained data is presented in a clear and coherent manner.

Methods applied in the study are adequately described.

Final conclusions are appropriate and based on the data obtained in the study.

References cited in the study are relevant and sufficient.

The manuscript is well written and easy to read but needs minor corrections:

In the Introduction section, at the end it should be more clearly stated the aim of the study.
