Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

I read this paper with great interest, this article give a comprehensive description of lighting technology application in Indonesia

Please do not repeat many times the same ideas for example” Indonesia is an archipelagic country consisting of 5 large islands and more than 17,000 small islands”

You have to use the same numerals system to number the tables (Arabic or Roman numerals).

In the page 21, you have to indicate the table number (line 565 and line 569).

In the page 26, you have to indicate the figure number (line 692); you wrote the following figure, where is the figures?

Kind regards

Author Response

Dear Colleague,

Thank you for your helpful and constructive comments. We have taken them all into consideration and made the necessary corrections.

After the corrections relating to all the remarks of the reviewers, we also carried out a complete proofreading by an English speaker. Many elements have also been corrected and paragraphs have also been rewritten.

However, the line numbering may have changed a bit after some parts were rewritten.

In the file with corrections, you will therefore find a numbering in our answer which does not correspond to that of the document. Please excuse us.

Reviewer 2 Report

1- Extensive editing of English language is required

2- Not clear which data were obtained directly from the literature and which were processed by the authors based on data from the literature. Make sure to clearly distinguish between them and explain how they are processed.

3- The methodology of the survey is not presented. It should be! How did you select the 101 persons? are they representative of the studied population? How did you conduct the survey ?

4- What do you mean by OBSERVATION ? Why adopt survey for one group and observation for the other two ? I don’t see how you can get the presented results by observation ?

5- The methodology of the observation is not presented. It should be!  What is the number of persons observed? are they representative of the studied population ?

Reviewer 3 Report

Dear authors,

The parameters chosen to procure LEDs across Indonesia and their installation at various stages (places) are systematically presented and problems associated with it are elegantly presented. The huge survey data might provide an idea for any nation to expand their lighting applications as well. The listed comments may be carefully addressed to further improve the quality of the work.

Minor comments

Abstract

(1) Line 32: Specify the intensity and power (range) of LEDs used for clarity.

Section 1

(1) Lines 44-48: The advantage of LEDs over incandescent lamps should be supported with reasonable literature.

Section 2

(1) Figure 1: The electrification ratio should be provided for the years 2015-2022 for clarity. The scenario would have been changed since 2020 which may be accounted for.

(2) Line 96: Avoid using ‘wrongly’ and rather use ‘inappropriate’! This change is with keeping scientific spirit and not to criticize others in research papers.

(3) Table 1: The sodium vapour lamps may also be included.

Section 3

(1) Figure 3: The expenditure incurred for the imports should also be included in the bar graph.

(2) The budget allotted for each scheme should be provided.

Section 4

(1) Figure 31: The abbreviated terms along the x-axis may be expanded for clarity.
