Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Hybrid Energy Storage System is proposed here for the elimination of harmonics and to support the grid by providing real 18 and reactive power supervened by varying load conditions. I have several suggestions:

1. Figures are blur. All the figures should be improved.

2.  There are lots of typos and grammar errors.

3. Many variables in formulas are not claimed. For example, "??∝" and

4.  Figure 3 is puzzled. Why is not there any capacitor? The inventor in Figure 3 is not completed.

5. The proposed filter (a potential contribution) is not given clearly in the paper.

1. Fig2 should be Figure 2.

2. "In the proposed system a SAF is used" should be "In the proposed system, a SAF is used"

3. "similarly, for supercapacitor" should be "Similarly, for supercapacitor"

4. A space is needed inserting between the number and the unit. For example, 3V should be 3 V.

A few sentences are lengthy; rewrite them as smaller sentences. For example, the first sentence in the abstract is long and confusing.

In the introduction, the first sentence starts with "This" - not appropriate.

Figure 1 is not visible.

Check for subscript and superscript format clearly in the paper.

Need minor language revision.

Reviewer 3 Report

Kindly check the following comments to improve the article before possible publication.

1. The abstract should be written with technical objectives. The current version is more general. Also, the outcome of the work must be indicated in the last two lines.

2. The introduction is vague. The information is not coherent. Although the introduction is separated into different sub-sections, the content clarity (coherent, what are the drawbacks in the existing system) is missing.

3. Figure 1 and 2 clarity is too worst. The readability of the article must be improved.

4. From figures 1 and 2, the reviewer is just wondering that what is the novelty of this article. The selection of the controller is also not new. The concept is already a well-known topic. The authors must state the accurate answer to this query.

5. Figure 3 is inappropriate. The gating signal for switches is not there in the simulation diagram.

6. Why the input current ripple information is not included in Tables 1 to 3?

7. Figure 4 and 5 must be improved with high-resolution images.

8. Fig. 11 (a) and (b), please double-check with the values. In %THD waveform, the Fundamental (50 Hz) value is indicated that without a filter is 3. 704 whereas with a filter is 6.112. It isn't very clear to the readers.

9. Fig. 13 and 14 also double-check. The voltage magnitude values are wrong for the selected parameters. Experimental results could be improved.

10. Conclusion must be improved to attract the readers. The future scope of this article must be included.

The article is good. In some places, there is a typos and grammatical errors. Please proofread the article and submit the revised version.

3. There is no proper full sine wave signal, this may be due to noise. Is there any value of signal to noise ratio available to judge the quality of the output signal? Response

3. We couldn’t calculate the signal to noise ratio. We shall calculate the value.

I think it can be performed, it is very basic and starting process of any-kind of signal processing. It is up to authors to include it or not. I am ok with the author's response to my rest of the comments.

Response to Reviewer 4 Comments(second round)

  1. There is no proper full sine wave signal, this may be due to noise. Is there any value of signal to noise ratio available to judge the quality of the output signal?

Response- The signal to noise ratio(SNR) is 18 dB.
