Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Presented manuscript is focused to evaluate the performance of a novel pilot-scale wet electrostatic precipitator in a bio-drying-assisted solid recovered fuel generation plant.

The subject is a motivating one, the proposed system being investigated in detail and the obtained results well understood and explained.

Please provide the technical features of the presented installation.

Best regards!

: Please provide the technical features of the presented installation.

-> As reviewer suggested, following information were provided in page 4 (line 125-126).

: …. using sewage sludge with a capacity of 5 tons/day with 10 – 14 days of retention time, located in C county, South Korea.

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper was revised according to the journal rules. The topic treated was focused to the particulate matter efficiency evaluation in a generation plant.

Few revisions are required and they are reported below:

- please try to reduce acronyms from the abstract

- a nomenclature section with all acronyms and parameters used should be added

- being an experimental analysis presented, an uncertainity evaluation of experimental measuremets should be added

- use the same style for the figures presented

- check that all details for the instruments used are properly added to the manuscript

: please try to reduce acronyms from the abstract

à Authors have considered the modification according to the reviewer’s comment. However, Authors still believe that SRF, WESP and PM are basic and necessary acronym for the concise of abstract.

: a nomenclature section with all acronyms and parameters used should be added

à Authors have considered the modification according to the reviewer’s comment. However, Authors believe that that SRF, WESP and PM are the common acronym in this research area and will be easily understandable for the future readers. Thus, Authors have decided not to add the nomenclature section and kindly ask reviewer to understand our opinion.

: being an experimental analysis presented, an uncertainity evaluation of experimental measuremets should be added

à As reviewer suggested, the uncertainty evaluation via adding standard deviation etc. could enhance the quality of the manuscript. However, authors kindly ask reviewer to understand that performing duplicated and triplicated experiments under pilot scale system were difficult due to the time and resource limitation.

- use the same style for the figures presented

à As reviewer suggested, all figures were revised to use the same style.

: check that all details for the instruments used are properly added to the manuscript

à As reviewer suggested, all details of instruments were thoroughly checked.
