The paper is interesting and valuable on wheat production productivity in drought-prone areas in Ethiopia.

The abstract should be improved for clarity. English should be revised. Several words are misspelled (see file). 

 

The choice of the 6 villages should be better justified (see p. 4)

 

The section on the results can be improved for clarity.

Comments of the tables could be more detailed, a little bit, for the reader to understand the data better. 

 

The discussion could also be improved and extended. What are the main conclusions and hypotheses?

 

Finally the conclusion should also be revised and more complete. A link could be made to the introduction.
