Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article deals with a very important topic concerning the care for the environment, on the one hand, and the well-being of large social groups on the other, with the limitation of major sports events at the world level. The applied research methods are appropriate, it should be considered and written what further research in this field will be.
A rich literature on the subject has been shown, but the reviewer suggests that the items presented in the work should be as new as possible.

Thank you for the opportunity to read the paper Stadium travel and subjective well-being of football spectators. I found the paper highly interesting, the research very well structured and the results properly discussed. Therefore I propose only two changes:

Page 2, line 87:

2.1. Pro-environmental bahavior  - should be behaviour

Page 13, lines 472  - 476

This section writes twice about the parking – it reads as an unnecessary repetition. I propose to reformulate

Page 8, table 2

There are some unnecessary spaces between the words (e..g between the & household) – I propose to delete the spacing

Reviewer 3 Report

The article is somewhat original and interesting. The content of the article also confirms that any form of socio-economic activity generates a carbon footprint.

The article is properly structured. I have no significant comments to the theoretical, methodological and results. The scope of the quantitative research carried out deserves recognition.

The content of the article, however, gives rise to reflections on the need to conduct exactly this type of research. It is true that there are opportunities for pro-ecological policy by a sports league or sports clubs regarding the behavior of the club and its fans. I do not think that such a policy has the potential to significantly change the behavior of fans, especially in the case of games outside the club's premises. Suggestions for relocating the stadium seem completely irrational and naive.

It should be assumed that the presented research is a special and detailed case of the analysis of carbon footprint behavior. I believe that it is more important in research to focus on spatial measurement (e.g. in an urban agglomeration) and not on fragmented elements of the economy. Pro-ecological policy should cover football like any other element of socio-economic life.
