Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors try to investigate Korean consumers’ attitudes towards 7 consumer evaluation criteria. The topic itself is interesting and well-introduced. The paper will be better presented by addressing the following issues:

Please describe in detail how these 225 respondents are distributed across 10 regions? What are the 10 regions? Why do you choose these 10 regions? What is the original distribution of rural and urban regions? How large or what the population size for these rural and urban regions? Are these 225 respondents proportional to the population size of each region? What are the demographics of these 10 regions? Are there any cultural differences across these 10 regions that could impact the results?

Table 1: Adding additional spaces/lines between different categories. How the urban and rural regions differentiate in education levels and occupation? Are there any correlations between education levels and occupation? I would encourage the authors to present the statistics based on rural and urban classifications as well. Table 2: Please explain what you have learned from Table 2 and please rename Factor 1-3 to their actual meanings in Table 2. Table 3: Please explain what you have learned in paragraphs. Table 4: Why both columns are rows are all independent variables? What are the significance levels of each variable? Which variables are “control” variables? Are there any correlations between your independent variables? Are there any correlations between the variables shown in the columns? Please update your results and discussions accordingly.

1) This paper needs some economic point of view (see bibliography recommended).

2) Conclusions needs more explanation, some policy recommendations, research limitations, etc.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

Thanks for the authors' detailed responses. The authors adequately addressed my concerns.

Reviewer 2 Report

Probably this paper would be better with a map of South Korea and a table with descriptive statistics of consumers including the gender variable. Are there differences according to gender?
