Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The research presents a high theoretical-methodological value, despite this it is suggested: improve the writing of the abstract, add a discussion of the results, and reduce the footnotes (Some of these may be bibliographical citations).

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper is well written and coherent concerning its scope and methodological approach. The AHP methodology is fitting well the scope and content of the paper and it is properly used throughout the paper. There are some issues that have not been clearly covered in the proposed framework, but the revision of the research tool is the task for some future tasks. The sources used to describe and investigate wine sector sustainability practices are well selected and used. The discussion and conclusion are based on the investigated case and analysis performed with regard to specific results. All the results that are clearly presented and important for current research. Perhaps, the research approach is missing synthetic graphical presentation that would present major decision criteria with their identified significance. AHP method, as well as its application tools, proposes such an illustration scheme and it should be used also here. Another drawback is related to the lack of questionnaire form that was used to gather the data. It should be annexed to the paper as an additional material. Finally, we are missing the clear presentation of experts structure. Since AHP is based on expert assessments, I believe the clear presentation of the numerical structure of this group should be an integral part of the methodological chapter. Some additional remarks are included in the attached manuscript of the text.

Reviewer 3 Report

The purpose of the research is interesting and worth researching to identify the evolution of wine production starting from the three dimensions of sustainability (environmental, economic and social).

I list my comments as follows

1.     I recommend re-checking the document

2.     Minor language and reformulation errors need to be corrected

3.     Please formulate shorter sentences. For example, the sentence in the abstract, lines 19-22, is too long and it is difficult to follow the idea. It should be divided into at least two sentences for a better understanding of the presented idea.

4.     Footnotes can be used as bibliographic sources. Try to use only one variant of citation.

5.     All figures will be mentioned in the main text. For example, Figure 1 is not found in the text and is not explained.

6.     Provide more information regarding the questionnaire. In order to understand the analysis carried out, it is necessary to provide more information about the set of questions. What type of questions did you use (closed, open)?

7. Please also present some policy implications.
