Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This manuscript pertains to the current topic, namely the modeling and experimental verification of the required power for electrically heated clothing. The results are interesting! However, I find several aspects are not thoroughly discussed and therefore should be included to further improve the quality of the manuscript. Please consider the following revisions.

1) Please add information on range of materials considered for fabrication of heated clothing.

2) What is the limitations for application of DuBois formula?

3) Please explain of determination of metabolic rate (p.12).

In my opinion, the results are interesting, and the paper can be useful enough for the readership of MDPI to be published after minor revision.

Reviewer 2 Report

The work deals with modeling and experimental verification of the power required for thermal comfort in electrically heated clothing.
The paper requires a minor revision to meet the requirements of scientific journals having high IF.
1. Please explain clearly what is novelty in this paper.
2. The paper lacks comprehensive review of the literature.
3. The innovation and scientific contribution of this study need to be highlighted at the end of the introduction and the conclusions.
4. Please explain criteria of the analysis and measurement methods, criteria of choosing measuring parameters.
5. The conclusion section should be adapted such that it is totally supported by the obtained results. It is necessary to add the conclusions and add possibility of application.
I recommend this article to publication in Energies after minor revision.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Dear authors,

I would like to thank the authors for their contribution,

This work is to provide clear design of simple modeling and experimental verification of the required power for electrically heated clothing,

The aim of this paper endeavors to prove the verification of the model of theoretical power required to maintain thermal comfort in ambient temperatures below 0 °C. (According to ISO 11079)

The authors aimed to prove the feasibility of the proposed methodology by three participants took part in the experiment, In conducted independently for each of them.

The conclusions lack focus on the novelties obtained by the authors.  Efforts to prove the verification of the heating power computed using the ISO 11079 standard in view of the electrically heated garment design has been performed were presented.

This paper declares the ultimate objective of the research is to develop a set of professional-use clothing by the clothing design and production are the responsibility of PSA Małachowski, a highly specialized producers of winter outerwear in Poland.

Comments

·      You need to improve your abstract,

·      Explain exactly why to choose the emplacement on the upper back, lower back, abdomen, hands, thighs, and shins?

·      Figures 6, and 8 are not clearly visible, try to improve them, and if possible, make a comparison between the three.

·      According to the authors, is three participants enough? Justify your choice?

·      Explain how to these results in the field, before talking about the next step in the recommendations.

·      This paper observed large discrepancies mean that caution should be taken when designing heated garments, what is your recommendation to improve the work to become commercialized?

·      Conclusion badly expressed, a big change to make, add and justify your result, put necessary recommendations because the product is being improved.

For these reasons, I suggest that the authors use a better resolution and quality to maintain the level of excellence of this journal.

Considering the contribution of the work, the method used, the presentation, and the methodology followed by the authors, a big change has to be made before strongly recommending publishing this work in the journal.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Dear authors,

I would like to thank the authors for their contribution to the geothermal energy systems in the desert of arid regions

Considering the great change in the article thus to improved the quality of the figures and added other paragraphs to explain the paper

For these reasons, I suggest that the authors use a better resolution and quality to maintain the level of excellence of this journal.
