Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Vertebral artery hypoplasia is very controversial risk factor for infarction. However we can find in literature small groups discribing such cases. Thats why in my opinion it was very good decision to evaluate 742 patients with risk factors. You showed that verterbral artery hypoplasia is not rare fanding.

Reviewer 2 Report

this paper regarding "Association of Vertebral Artery Hypoplasia and Vertebrobasilar Cerebrovascular Accident ", presents very interesting key points. The Authors researched and founded a significant association between an anamotical factor and an insidious pathology. Due to the presence of Willis circle with a lot of anatomical variants, it is difficult to know before if some anatomical factors could influence in an eventual future accidents, and several concerns have been arised in this field. In my experience as Vascular Surgeon, in the past , a lot of paper have beeen researched an association between monolateral carotid occlusion and the destiny of controlateral site, with opposite outcomes.   This paper has been well wrighted, methods were correct and well reported, and eventually the outcomes were amazing. The Authors had a good idea and they developed this study with scientific sound. Obviously it was a asingle center experience focused on this topic without a blind supervision, limitations reported and underlined by the Authors.
