Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Dear authors,

I have now completed the review of the manuscript titled "Influence of breastfeeding on the state of meta-inflammation in obesity."

The manuscript is interesting and, in general, fair written.

I have some suggestions to further improve the quality of the manuscript.

1. The title clearly identifies the subject but could be more specific about the aspect of breastfeeding being studied (e.g., duration, exclusivity) and the specific dimensions of "meta-inflammation" in obesity.

2. The initial background on metabolic inflammation and macrophages is well explained, setting a good foundation for the discussion on breastfeeding and obesity. However, more direct linkage to the primary focus (breastfeeding and obesity) at the beginning might better guide the reader.

3. The objective is somewhat clear but lacks specifics about the methodology or expected outcomes of the literature review. While it mentions examining "metabolic, immunological, and molecular effects," it's not clear how these aspects are specifically analyzed or compared. Clarify the primary research questions or hypotheses driving the literature review.

4. The review methods are briefly described but lack depth regarding selection criteria, analysis methods, and how conclusions were drawn. Also, reliance solely on PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar might overlook relevant data from other scientific databases or grey literature, potentially introducing selection bias. Expand on the methodology of the literature review to ensure comprehensive coverage and critical synthesis of the literature. Incorporate a more critical evaluation of the literature, discussing inconsistencies, varying methodologies, and potential biases in existing studies.

5. While authors mention the recognized impact of breastfeeding, but there's a lack of critical analysis or synthesis of the findings from the literature review. Summarizing key results or debates in the field would be beneficial. Discuss the potential practical implications for healthcare providers, mothers, and policy makers.

6. The call for further research is generic. It could be strengthened by specifying particular gaps or questions that emerged from the review. Offer more precise recommendations for future research, based on identified knowledge gaps.

Thank you for your valuable contributions to our field of research. I will wait a revised manuscript.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The presented review article entitled "Influence of breastfeeding on the state of meta-inflammation in obesity" (cimb-2715289), is proposed for the Section " Molecular Medicine", in the Special Issue "Advances in Understanding Molecular Basis of Inflammatory Diseases".
This review article aims highlight the influence of breastfeeding on meta-inflammation in obesity, it focuses on the metabolic, immunological, and molecular effects of breastfeeding and its impact on the state of chronic low-grade meta-inflammation induced by obesity.
Suggestions:
Comprehensive review could be included in the title.
In the abstract and in the paragraph from line 88 to 97 explaining the methodology, specify the time period selected for the database review.
I suggest expanding the paragraph from line 88 to 97, indicating how many articles were identified, as well as the inclusion and exclusion criteria applied, and the final number of articles on which the comprehensive review was based.
On lines 422 to 423, 448-451, 446 and 496 include bibliographic reference.
