Proteoglycan Combined with Hyaluronic Acid and Hydrolyzed Collagen Restores the Skin Barrier in Mild Atopic Dermatitis and Dry, Eczema-Prone Skin: A Pilot Study
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Dear authors,
The article was pleasant and easy to read.
Please find some of my comments enclosed in the pdf file.
One important comment for the soundness of the article : In the absence of a vehicle-controlled set up in vivo, it is critical for the reader to know whether the effect is truly from the H.ECMTM liposome or something else in the cream. Even a liposome on its own would exert beneficial effect upon skin barrier, skin moisture etc...thus the title needs to highlight the exploratory nature of the study. (e.g. Proteoglycan combined with hyaluronic acid and hydrolyzed collagen restores skin barrier in mild atopic dermatitis and dry, eczema-prone skin : a pilot study)
Then I have a question with regards to the source of the PG (salmon nasal cartilage). What was the reason for its selection ? Is it a byproduct from an industry ? It would be good to emphasize positive reason(s) for this choice, especially when considering that the plant kingdom is more appealing to consumers than fish (e.g. vegan).
Lastly, I would suggest to ask a native English speaker to have a read, to ensure some sentences read better.
