Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper is a interesting and well written.

Please state in the Abstract that this is an all-female study which is fine.

Please make some changes to table 5 and 6 as items are listed in last box as "*P=<0.05" and "**P=<0.01" yet none are indicated on the table.... either indicate or remove "*P=<0.05" and "**P=<0.01" indicators.

Author Response

We thanks reviewer 1 for the comments and suggestions.

1)We stated that this is a female study by writing it at line 32: "We enrolled three groups of female..."

2)We modified Table5 and Table6 and replaced them with new Table2 and Table3, as per your suggestion.

Please see the attached revised version for minor revision.

Reviewer 2 Report

This manuscript describes studies on the MOR’s down-regulation in the B-lympocytes of patients under chronic pain conditions (FM and OA). The authors suggested the MOR in the B-lymphocytes as a biomarker of FM conditions. This is a new informative finding related with chronic pain conditions of the FM. Overall, this manuscript is written OK, but the reviewer is concerned about lack of clarification and logical jump in analyzing the data shown. FM and OA down-regulated the MOR in the B-cells with some variations, which may be true for all other chronic pain states, and therefore may not be specific for the pain states. However, the reviewer noticed multiple places overstated and thus need to be tuned down, as marked in the file attached. The reviewer suggests revising significant figures, abbreviations, and numeric numbers to be consistent in all places. Refer to the file attached.

The reviewer recommend this manuscript published after revisions suggested here and in the attached file.
