Implants in Orthopaedics and Dentistry: Recent Achievements and Future Perspectives
Topic Information
Dear Colleagues,
The development of advanced implant technologies plays a crucial role in improving patient outcomes in both orthopaedics and dentistry. With the growing demand for more durable, biocompatible, and functional implants, significant research efforts have been directed toward material innovations, surface modifications, and enhanced integration with biological tissues.
This Special Issue focuses on recent achievements and future perspectives in the field of orthopaedic and dental implants. It aims to highlight advancements in biomaterials, fabrication techniques, biomechanical performance, and clinical applications. Papers from various disciplines with a common interest in implant technology are invited, including but not limited to the following topics:
- Novel biomaterials for orthopaedic and dental implants, including biodegradable and bioactive materials;
- Surface modifications to enhance osseointegration and antimicrobial properties;
- Advanced fabrication techniques, such as additive manufacturing and nanotechnology applications;
- Biomechanical performance and long-term stability of implants;
- Innovative coating technologies to improve implant functionality;
- Computational modelling and simulations for implant design and optimization;
- Clinical outcomes and translational research in implantology.
It is our pleasure to invite you to submit a manuscript for this Special Issue. Full papers, communications, and reviews are all welcome.
