Future-Proofing Digital Trust: From Classical to Quantum-Safe Security
Topic Information
Dear Colleagues,
With the rapid advancement of quantum computing technology, traditional asymmetric encryption schemes like RSA and ECC face an existential threat. To maintain the cornerstone of the digital economy in 2025 and beyond, the paradigm of "Digital Trust" must transition from classical cryptographic defenses to Quantum-Resistant (QR) architectures.
This Topic aims to explore the critical challenges and opportunities in the global migration process toward Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC). The focus extends beyond merely developing new mathematical algorithms; it emphasizes ensuring a smooth transition and long-term resilience for existing critical infrastructure, such as IoT networks, financial systems, and cloud platforms. We welcome original research and review articles on PQC implementation, crypto-agility, the design of Quantum-Resistant protocols, and the optimization of hardware security modules. Through an interdisciplinary lens, this Topic is dedicated to building a secure and reliable digital trust framework that withstands the quantum era.
We look forward to your valuable contributions!

Preprints.org is a multidisciplinary platform offering a preprint service designed to facilitate the early sharing of your research. It supports and empowers your research journey from the very beginning.
MDPI Topics is collaborating with Preprints.org and has established a direct connection between MDPI journals and the platform. Authors are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity by posting their preprints at Preprints.org prior to publication:
- Share your research immediately: disseminate your ideas prior to publication and establish priority for your work.
- Safeguard your intellectual contribution: Protect your ideas with a time-stamped preprint that serves as proof of your research timeline.
- Boost visibility and impact: Increase the reach and influence of your research by making it accessible to a global audience.
- Gain early feedback: Receive valuable input and insights from peers before submitting to a journal.
- Ensure broad indexing: Web of Science (Preprint Citation Index), Google Scholar, Crossref, SHARE, PrePubMed, Scilit and Europe PMC.
