We present a multifunctional, reconfigurable terahertz metasurface built from dual split-ring resonators combining photosensitive silicon and metallic elements. By hybridizing structural and Pancharatnam–Berry phase control, the device achieves spin-decoupled manipulation of circularly polarized wavefronts and an optical, light-intensity-driven reconfiguration mechanism. Using spatially encoded bifocal responses, we implement two two-input/two-output logic modules (OR-XOR and AND-NAND), and full-wave simulations verify the expected truth-table behaviors; additionally, a spin- and intensity-dependent hologram produces four distinct far-field images under different input conditions. At the selected working point (≈0.95 THz), the design exhibits a strong cross-polarization response (cross-polarized reflection amplitude > 0.7), demonstrating a viable route toward chip-scale, integrated terahertz logic and multifunctional imaging devices. This brief note presents a back-of-the-envelope calculation showing that the number of degrees of freedom of a free scalar field in expanding flat space equals the surface area of the Hubble volume in Planck units. The logic of the calculation is the following. The amount of energy in the Hubble volume scales with its linear size, consequently the volume can only contain a finite number of quantized field modes. Since the momentum of the lowest energy mode scales inversely with the linear size of the volume, the maximal number of such modes in the volume scales with its surface area. It is possible to show that when the number of field modes is saturated the modes are confined to the surface of the volume. Gravity only enters this calculation as a regulator, providing a finite volume that contains the field, the entire calculation is done in flat space. While this toy model is bound to be incomplete, it is potentially interesting because it reproduces the defining aspects of holography, and advocates a regularization of the quantum degrees of freedom based on Friedmann’s equation. The genetic code of amino acid sequences in proteins does not allow understanding and modeling of inherited processes such as inborn coordinated motions of living bodies, innate principles of sensory information processing, quasi-holographic properties, etc. To be able to model these phenomena, the concept of geno-logical coding, which is connected with logical functions and Boolean algebra, is put forward. The article describes basic pieces of evidence in favor of the existence of the geno-logical code, which exists in parallel with the known genetic code of amino acid sequences but which serves for transferring inherited processes along chains of generations. These pieces of evidence have been received due to the analysis of symmetries in structures of molecular-genetic systems. The analysis has revealed a close connection of the genetic system with dyadic groups of binary numbers and with other mathematical objects, which are related with dyadic groups: Walsh functions (which are algebraic characters of dyadic groups), bit-reversal permutations, logical holography, etc. These results provide a new approach for mathematical modeling of genetic structures, which uses known mathematical formalisms from technological fields of noise-immunity coding of information, binary analysis, logical holography, and digital devices of artificial intellect. Some opportunities for a development of algebraic-logical biology are opened. Full article
