COVID-19-related research redistributed citations toward pandemic topics, but the author-level contribution of this redistribution to individual h-index values remains insufficiently documented in lower-volume national research systems. This cross-sectional bibliometric study used OpenAlex metadata from 2015–2025 to evaluate highly productive Peruvian health researchers. We assembled a non-random upper-productivity cohort of 500 authors; the primary cohort included 456 authors with fractional Peruvian affiliation of 0.5 or higher. Observed h-index values were compared with COVID-19-excluded h-index values recalculated after removing COVID-19-related works identified through an audited classifier. In the primary cohort, the median observed h-index was 12.0, the median COVID-19-excluded h-index was 11.0, and median Delta h was 0.00 [0.00, 1.25]. Overall, 210 authors (46.1%) had Delta h > 0; the observed total Delta h after COVID-19 removal was 450. A matched non-COVID removal benchmark produced a lower median simulated total Delta h of 297 [292, 303], and none of the 500 simulations reached the observed COVID-removal total. The proportional h-index change was larger among authors with lower baseline h-index, although this indicator is denominator-sensitive. COVID-19-related works had higher two-year citation velocity than non-COVID-19 works within the same authors. These findings support a cautious interpretation of h-index values from the pandemic period according to the thematic and temporal composition of the works contributing to the index. Full article

Keratin is an abundant, recalcitrant structural protein that constitutes the primary component of several animal wastes, particularly chicken feathers. Because of their potential and availability, various technologies, such as anaerobic biodigestion, have been used to degrade keratin and transform feathers into biogas and other value-added products. However, due to their fibrous architecture and rigid structure, keratinous materials are elastic, water-insoluble, and enzymatically resistant, which makes natural degradation difficult. In this sense, before using chicken feathers as feedstock in biodigesters, the keratin in the residue must be cleaved in pretreatment steps. Whether as a single substrate or in co-digestion processes, the keratin breakdown is critical for enhancing biogas production from feathers. In this context, there is growing emphasis on developing pretreatment methods to facilitate protein hydrolysis and digestion, thereby improving biogas generation. To evaluate progress in recycling waste keratin, a bibliometric analysis of original scientific publications on the pretreatment of chicken feathers for anaerobic digestion was conducted using the Scopus database. The findings indicate that researchers apply chicken feathers in processes, including standard biodigestion, co-digestion with food waste, animal manure, and slaughterhouse waste, for biomethane and biohydrogen production. Across the evaluated studies, the pretreatment methods showed notable improvements in feather solubilization and subsequent biogas yield; however, they still encounter key limitations, including ammonia (NH3) inhibition, high chemical/reagent costs, and high energy demand. Commercial automotive technologies are advancing rapidly in areas such as electrification, connectivity, digital transformation, and autonomous systems. As military organizations increasingly incorporate commercial technologies, it is important to understand how commercial trends align with future battlefield requirements. This paper presents a framework for forecasting military ground vehicle requirements through 2040 by integrating commercial automotive technology trends with observations from contemporary warfare. This analysis identified automotive technology trajectories through a synthesis of published bibliometric studies covering major automotive research domains from 2016 to 2026. Military operational requirements were derived from battlefield narratives published by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) and open-source vehicle loss data reported by Oryxspioenkop during the Russia–Ukraine War. The automotive and military analyses were then aligned to identify areas of convergence between commercial technology development and future battlefield requirements. The results indicate that future battlefields will be characterized by persistent surveillance, precision fires, contested logistics, contested electromagnetic environments, high attrition, and rapid battlefield adaptation. Future military vehicles will increasingly leverage commercial technologies to improve autonomous operations, predictive sustainment, fuel efficiency, resilient communications, and signature management while incorporating military-specific capabilities where required. The resulting framework provides a structured methodology for linking commercial automotive innovation with military vehicle modernization, acquisition planning, and future capability development. Climate risk has become a defining challenge for businesses, influencing strategic decision-making, organisational resilience, and long-term performance. Despite the rapid growth of research in this area, the intellectual development and thematic evolution of climate-related corporate studies remain fragmented. This study provides a comprehensive synthesis of the literature through a bibliometric analysis and systematic review of 643 Scopus-indexed, peer-reviewed articles published between 1993 and 2025, with a systematic thematic synthesis of 23 empirical studies. Using Biblioshiny and VOSviewer, science-mapping techniques, including co-citation analysis and bibliographic coupling, were employed to examine publication trends, intellectual foundations, and major research themes. The findings indicate a shift from environmental measurement and compliance toward climate-risk management, carbon disclosure, and sustainable finance. Financial outcomes are heterogeneous, and context-dependent carbon exposure is generally associated with valuation penalties and downside risk, while the relevance of disclosure and climate strategies depends on credibility, substantive implementation, and organisational and institutional conditions. The integrated review shows that the financial implications of climate-related corporate actions are contingent upon climate-risk exposure, disclosure credibility, organisational capabilities, and institutional context. It further explains the coexistence of mixed empirical findings and identifies priorities for future research and policy. The findings offer valuable implications for researchers, corporate managers, investors, and policymakers seeking to strengthen sustainable business practices under an evolving climate risk landscape. National bibliometric assessments can show how scientific communities change, but their results depend strongly on how the researcher population is defined. This paper assessed publication output, citation patterns, institutional structure, and collaboration for a defined Italian forest research population. Population identification was completed in February–March 2026 by combining a Scopus-derived researcher database with the official 2025 Ministry of University and Research staff lists for the relevant forest disciplines. The final study population comprised 250 researchers. All Scopus-indexed publications associated with these author IDs during 2013–2025 were retrieved through the Scopus API in June 2026; the primary corpus was not restricted by forest-topic screening. The corpus contained 9918 unique publications. Annual output associated with the study population increased from 449 publications in 2013 to 971 in 2025, while publication-active researchers increased from 148 to 236. Mean fractional output per active researcher increased from 3.13 publications per year in 2013–2015 to 4.08 in 2023–2025. A persistent-author subset of 188 researchers observed in both periods also exhibited higher late-period output, indicating that recent entry alone did not account for the increase. Internationally co-authored publications increased from 38.7% to 60.7%, and the top 10% of publications received 52.4% of all citations. A conservative title/source forest-signal subset reproduced the increasing output pattern. The results refer to the defined end-of-period study population rather than to a complete historical census, but provide a documented basis for future monitoring. Full article

Public finance sustainability has become increasingly shaped by recurrent systemic shocks, yet the structure and evolution of research at the intersection of public finances and different types of crises remain insufficiently synthesized. This study provides a comparative bibliometric assessment of four crisis domains—economic, pandemic, geopolitical, and environmental—to identify their developmental trajectories, intellectual cores, and collaboration patterns. Using records extracted exclusively from the Web of Science and processed through the Bibliometrix R package (R version 4.2.2), the analysis covers 1170 publications for economic crises (1991–2025), 285 for pandemic crises (2010–2025), 21 for geopolitical crises (2009–2025), and 110 for environmental crises (1991–2025). The results show that the economic crisis literature represents the most mature and cohesive field, characterized by a sustained annual growth rate of 12.57% and strong internal citation density. The pandemic corpus expanded rapidly during 2020–2022, with the highest growth rate (19.24%) and elevated levels of international co-authorship. The geopolitical segment remains comparatively small and fragmented, while the environmental domain demonstrates steady growth (6.68%) and the highest average citation impact (13.99 citations per document). Overall, the findings indicate differentiated stages of institutionalization across the four domains and suggest a gradual shift toward conceptualizing fiscal sustainability as a dynamic capacity to manage systemic and multidimensional risks. The selection of georeferenced meteorological databases is a critical technical and financial factor in photovoltaic (PV) system sizing. This study evaluates how database choice affects PV generation estimates and economic feasibility by combining bibliometric screening, technical validation, financial indicators, and multicriteria analysis. A bibliometric review of 5658 documents indexed in Scopus and Web of Science supports the selection of seven databases, compared across ten Brazilian locations. PV generation is estimated using both a simplified sizing approach and a higher-temporal-resolution model based on hourly irradiance, ambient temperature, and module thermal coefficients, enabling comparison with measured generation in a three-year case study in João Pessoa. Performance is assessed using MAE, MAPE, RMSE, R2, NPV, payback and the Analytic Hierarchy Process. Under the adopted PV model and AHP weighting structure, NASA POWER shows the strongest overall multicriteria performance in the analyzed Brazilian sample, ranking first in seven locations. Database choice causes variations of up to 4.70 years in payback and BRL 105,709.36 in NPV, equivalent to USD 21,082.84 at the 22 May 2026 exchange rate. The simplified CRESESB-based method overestimates annual generation by 6.79–12.64%, whereas NASA POWER reaches a best annual deviation of 1.66% in 2024. Full article

The convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) is reshaping how the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector manages projects across their lifecycle, yet the systemic uptake of this convergence remains poorly understood in developing-economy contexts such as Morocco. This study examines the state, opportunities, and barriers of BIM–AI integration in Morocco’s AEC sector through a PRISMA-guided scoping review combined with a bibliometric analysis. An initial global search of Scopus and Web of Science identified 1842 records; after successive screening for relevance to BIM–AI integration and to the Moroccan context, six core studies were retained for detailed synthesis. The bibliometric analysis, covering the broader filtered corpus, shows a publication trend with three distinct growth phases between 2015 and 2025 and reveals that Moroccan research output on digital construction is disproportionately concentrated on energy-efficiency applications rather than construction management or structural engineering. The synthesis of the six core studies further indicates that BIM–AI integration in Morocco remains at an early, largely 3D-focused stage, with significant conceptual and empirical gaps. Building on these findings, this study proposes a three-tiered strategic roadmap, targeting policy, industry, and academia, to accelerate digital transformation and innovation in Morocco’s construction sector. Modern pyrotechnic materials are evolving from conventional fuel–oxidizer mixtures toward function-oriented energetic systems designed for controlled ignition, light emission, gas generation, pressure output and thermal response. This review analyzes recent progress in pyrotechnic materials through oxidizer chemistry, thermal and kinetic behavior, study-normalized performance comparison and bibliometric mapping. Representative oxidizer families, including nitrates, perchlorates, chlorates, metal oxides, hybrid oxide–salt systems, high-nitrogen salts, halogen-oxo oxidizers and coordination nitrate complexes, are compared in terms of chemical role and functional output. Thermal data show that decomposition temperature, heat release and activation energy must be interpreted together, since lower activation energy can indicate either enhanced reactivity or degradation during aging. A study-normalized relative performance factor (RPF) was used to compare performance changes within individual publications. The strongest relative improvements were associated with oxide selection, particle-size reduction, hybrid oxidizer design and coupling of nanothermites with gas-generating components. Bibliometric mapping confirmed a shift toward metal-based energetic materials, nanothermites, gas generators, combustion diagnostics, color systems and pyrotechnic devices. These trends show that oxidizer chemistry, particle architecture and additive function are increasingly selected for defined pressure, gas, light or thermal outputs. Full article

Background/Objectives: Performance measurement and management is a key administrative function; however, its application to child and adolescent healthcare services remains poorly mapped in the international literature. This study attempts a systematic bibliometric mapping of the field. To the best of our knowledge, previous bibliometric studies in pediatric and related healthcare fields have primarily focused on specific clinical or service domains, whereas the intersection of performance measurement and management with child and adolescent healthcare services has not been specifically mapped. The novelty of the present study lies in addressing this intersection through an integrated bibliometric assessment of its thematic, temporal, and geographical structure. Methods: A bibliometric analysis was performed on the Scopus database, with a query that combined a proximity operator (W/10) and Boolean logic, yielding 643 documents (1990–2026). After metadata cleaning and application of an occurrence threshold (≥15), 111 keywords were analyzed with VOSviewer (network, overlay, density, targeted analysis, bibliographic coupling of countries). Results: Research production increased strongly since 2010, peaking in 2025. Four thematic clusters emerged—quality of care, clinical outcomes, administrative framework, emergency/operational care—with the term “quality of health care” as the central hub-bridge. The administrative cluster was linked to older publications relative to the clinical/operational clusters. Country-level bibliographic coupling identified distinct geographical patterns in cited-reference similarity, including a predominantly European cluster, a transcontinental cluster dominated by the United States and Canada, and a separate Australian cluster. The term “performance measurement” itself did not meet the inclusion threshold, reflecting the methodological effect of the selected occurrence threshold rather than the absence of the concept from the literature. Conclusions: The retrieved literature was strongly concentrated in clinical and health-related subject areas, while explicitly administrative and managerial perspectives appeared comparatively limited. This pattern indicates a potential research gap that warrants further investigation rather than confirming the absence of managerial performance frameworks in the broader field. Full article

As an integrated educational model that combines inquiry-based learning with travel experiences, study travel plays a significant role in fostering students’ social responsibility, innovative spirit, and practical abilities, and has attracted growing attention worldwide. Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, this study conducts a systematic review of the literature published between 1950 and 2025. It identifies six major themes corresponding to the three stages of study travel. Through bibliometric analysis, the research delineates publication trends, core journal distributions, and keyword co-occurrence networks in the field. The findings indicate that experiential learning, constructivism, and transformative learning theory constitute the dominant theoretical foundations in current scholarship. Moreover, a notable “learning–travel imbalance” is observed, whereby educational processes and learning outcomes receive substantially more scholarly attention than travel attributes, industry logic, and managerial dimensions. This paper offers a systematic mapping of the knowledge terrain and theoretical architecture in international study travel research, clarifies existing gaps, and suggests directions for future interdisciplinary integration and for deeper synthesis of “learning” and “travel” in both research and practice. Modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) is a preservation and packaging technology used to extend the shelf life of foods and agricultural products, maintain quality stability, and ensure food safety. To systematically review and summarize the current research landscape, technical challenges, and development trends in the MAP field, this study selected 1568 publications related to MAP from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database during 2016–2025 and conducted bibliometric and visualization analysis. The results indicate that research activity in the MAP field has remained robust over the past decade, mainly focusing on four research areas: atmosphere regulation and packaging system design; microbial ecology, safety, and spoilage control; physicochemical deterioration and quality regulation; functional packaging materials and integrated preservation technologies. Countries such as China, Italy, and Spain have demonstrated outstanding performance in terms of publication output and academic influence in the MAP field, forming a solid research foundation in the MAP of perishable foods such as fruit and vegetables, meat products, and aquatic products. Research in the MAP field has gradually shifted from the verification of application effects toward system design and mechanistic analysis. Active packaging, intelligent packaging, bio-based materials, natural functional ingredients, volatile organic compounds, microbial community succession, and quality deterioration mechanisms have gradually become research hotspots, indicating a trend toward precision, sustainability, and functionality. These findings may provide references for future research topic selection, innovative packaging system design, and the development of novel food preservation technologies in the MAP field for foods and agricultural products. Large bibliographic databases require careful interpretation because publication trends and subject-area counts are shaped by database coverage, document-type selection, and classification practices. This study examines longitudinal changes in articles and reviews indexed in Scopus between 2010 and 2025, focusing on total Scopus-indexed output, the Business, Management and Accounting (BMA) category, and source-derived subject-area classification multiplicity. A longitudinal bibliometric design combined annual publication counts, growth rates, comparisons between the 2010–2021 baseline and the 2022–2025 recent observation window, exploratory segmented trend models, and the Subject-Area Multiplicity Ratio (SAMR). The SAMR was calculated as the annual sum of source-derived Scopus ASJC subject-area counts divided by the number of unique indexed articles and reviews. It is used as a descriptive ratio of classification multiplicity, not as a measure of article-level interdisciplinarity. The results show sustained but heterogeneous growth across subject areas. BMA recorded comparatively stronger growth during 2022–2025, whereas total Scopus-indexed output did not display a generalized discontinuity after 2022. Generative AI is treated only as contextual background, not as an explanatory factor. The SAMR increased from 1.654 in 2010 to 1.819 in 2025, indicating that summed subject-area counts increasingly exceeded unique-document totals. These findings support cautious interpretation of longitudinal bibliometric indicators in research assessment contexts. Full article

Microbial remediation serves as a cost-effective and eco-friendly tactic for petroleum-contaminated sites. In real-world practices, petroleum-degrading microbial consortia display prominent superiority over single strains. To tap into their intrinsic synergistic degradation capacity, it is essential to dissect microbial commonalities, individual traits and functional complementarity for complicated bioremediation scenarios. This study applied bibliometric approaches to collect 15 well-documented representative petroleum-hydrocarbon-degrading strains, and summarized research progress via comparative genomic analysis. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis and Rhodococcus erythropolis are the most frequently reported degraders with remarkable petroleum removal performance. Moreover, co-occurrence network analysis identifies Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Acinetobacter and Rhodococcus as core co-existing genera sustaining natural pollutant-degrading communities. Genomic evidence indicates these strains harbour abundant functional elements encoding diverse oxygenases, alcohol dehydrogenases, cytochrome P450 monooxygenases and key LuxR-, AraC- and GntR-family regulatory factors. P. aeruginosa has the highest copy numbers of catabolic enzyme genes, consistent with its outstanding degradation phenotype. Degraders from different genera exhibit high genetic heterogeneity, with accessory gene clusters significantly enriched in hydrocarbon degradation pathways. Six strains including P. aeruginosa and R. erythropolis assemble a complete gene cascade targeting recalcitrant polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. This work provides reliable genomic support for rational strain screening and synthetic-consortium optimization, facilitating knowledge-driven strategies for efficient petroleum bioremediation. Shopping malls have become major retail and lifestyle destinations that influence travel demand, mode choice, traffic congestion, private vehicle dependence, and transport-related environmental impacts. However, research connecting shopping mall visitation with sustainable urban mobility remains fragmented across transport, urban planning, retail, consumer behaviour, and environmental sustainability. This study uses bibliometric analysis to investigate publication patterns, intellectual structures, international collaboration, thematic clusters, and emerging trends in this interdisciplinary field. A total of 567 English-language articles and reviews published between 1 January 2000 and 7 May 2026 were retrieved from Scopus and analysed using descriptive indicators and VOSviewer-based document co-citation, country-level co-authorship, and keyword co-occurrence analyses. The findings indicate that publication activity has grown considerably since 2017, with China emerging as the most productive contributor and as a central hub for international research collaboration. Document co-citation analysis revealed six intellectual clusters related to parking and traffic congestion, online and in-store shopping behaviour, the built environment and land use, consumer value and retail experience, retail attractiveness and sustainable community planning, and retail revitalisation and urban regeneration. The keyword analysis revealed five main themes: urban transport, carbon emission, travel behaviour, shopping mall, and shopping activity. More recently, carbon emissions, sustainable development, online shopping, energy efficiency, and data-driven solutions have attracted increasing research attention. This study synthesises the fragmented knowledge base and suggests future research directions for low-carbon shopping mobility and sustainable access to retail destinations. Full article
