Environmental Technology
A section of Technologies (ISSN 2227-7080).
Section Information
The "Environmental Technology" Section focuses on cutting-edge innovations that address global environmental challenges. This Section covers advances in the following topics:
- Pollution control and remediation technologies (air, water, soil, and waste management, including PFAS treatment).
- Sustainable energy and resource recovery, advancing technologies and applications (e.g., biofuels, circular economy, waste-to-energy, and plastic upcycling).
- Environmental biotechnology (microbial remediation, phytotechnologies, bio-based materials, microbial fuel cells).
- Advanced oxidation processes (electrochemical remediation, plasma processes, photocatalysis).
- Smart and green infrastructure, technologies and applications (nature-based solutions, blue-green systems, AI-driven monitoring).
- Emerging clean technologies (carbon capture, nanotechnology, electrokinetic remediation).
- Digital and IoT applications (real-time environmental sensing, predictive modeling, automation in waste/water management).
- AI-enabled approaches for environmental problem-solving, technological applications and innovations (data-driven optimization, intelligent monitoring, machine learning in pollution prediction and control).
The overarching goal of this initiative is to publish studies with clear technological relevance or application potential. While fundamental studies are welcome, their paramount requirement is to make a direct contribution to technological developments. All submissions must emphasize scalable and reproducible solutions backed by robust data, outlining comprehensive methodologies—be it experimental, computational, or case-based—that underscore a tangible societal benefit. The inclusion of supplementary materials is advocated to ensure full transparency.
