Soil Syst. 2020 Travel Award
I am pleased to announce the winner of the Soil Systems 2020 Travel Award.
Dr. Noah Sokol, a postdoctoral researcher in the Physical and Life Sciences Directorate with the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, USA, was selected from a highly competitive field of applicants. His research focuses on how carbon and nutrients cycle through terrestrial ecosystems, and how these cycles can be altered by disturbances like invasive species, planetary warming, and land use change.
Dr. Sokol will receive 800 Swiss Francs to support attendance at any soil-related academic conference in 2020. Congratulations to Dr. Sokol on receiving this highly competitive travel award.
I would like to thank the Award Selection Committee members for their evaluation of the applicants, and I thank all the outstanding applicants for submitting their diverse and fascinating range of research topics.Prof. Dr. Scott Fendorf
