Recruiting Volunteer Reviewers for Religions

Religions
(ISSN: 2077-1444) is an international, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open access journal on religions and theology. It has been included by AHCI and Scopus and has a strong academic record and adopted a monthly publication schedule.

Reviewers play a vital role and carry significant responsibility in upholding the integrity of the scholarly record. To maintain the high standards of Religions, we are currently inviting volunteers to join our community of reviewers.

Reviewers’ profile and responsibilities:
Every reviewer is expected to perform manuscript evaluation in a timely, transparent, and ethical manner, following the COPE guidelines.

Reviewers should meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Ph.D. or Th.D.;
  • Have relevant experience and have a proven publication record in the field of religion (Scopus, ORCID);
  • Are experienced scholars in the field of religion;
  • Hold an official and recognized academic affiliation.

Religions strives for a rigorous peer review to ensure a thorough evaluation of each manuscript—this is a fundamental task for our reviewers. Reviewers who agree to review a manuscript are expected to meet the following criteria:

  • Having necessary expertise to judge the scientific quality of the manuscript;
  • Providing quality review reports and remaining responsive throughout the peer review process;
  • Maintaining standards of professionalism and ethics.

Reviewers’ benefits:
Reviewing is often an unseen and unrewarded task, despite being crucial. We are striving to recognize the efforts of all our reviewers.

Reviewing for Religions includes the following benefits:

  • For every manuscript reviewed, the reviewer may receive a discount voucher code entitling them to a reduction in the article processing charge (APC) of a future submission to any MDPI journals;
  • The reviewers receive a personalized reviewer certificate;
  • The reviewers are eligible to be considered for the “Outstanding Reviewer Awards”;
  • The reviewers are included in the journal’s annual acknowledgment of reviewers;
  • Reviewers may create a profile on Web of Science Reviewer Recognition Service and have their reviewing activity automatically added for participating journals. Profiles on Web of Science Reviewer Recognition Service can also be integrated with ORCID.
