The Section of Clinical Psychiatry and Psychotherapy serves as a cornerstone for research that bridges scientific understanding with direct patient care. This section is dedicated to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of mental disorders affecting thought, emotion, and behavior in adult populations. This section welcomes clinical and translational research that enhances our understanding and treatment of mental disorders.
Our scope encompasses the full spectrum of conditions in adult psychiatry, including, but not limited to, mood disorders (e.g., major depression and bipolar disorder), anxiety and trauma-related disorders, psychotic disorders (e.g., schizophrenia), personality disorders, and other mental disorders. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Diagnostic tools and clinical assessment methods;
- Pharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions;
- Management of comorbidity and complex clinical presentations;
- Service delivery models and mental health systems;
- Cross-cultural and special population studies in adult psychiatry.
