Recruiting Early Career Editorial Board Members for Proteomes
In order to further enhance the international outreach and influence of our journal Proteomes (ISSN: 2227-7382), promote a global academic exchange of and between young scientists, and support the Editorial Board with additional talent, the first Early Career Editorial Board of Proteomes (2025–2026) is being established, and outstanding young scholars are invited to join!
Recruitment:
Our plan is to recruit a total of five Early Career Editorial Board Members.
To be eligible, applicants must have:
- Comprehensive whole proteome analysis of samples from any organism;
- Proteoform analysis utilizing a variety of methods;
- Proteome analysis of diseases and pharmaceutical effects on proteoforms and the proteome;
- Comparative proteomics;
- Proteoform–proteoform and proteoform–target interactions;
- Structural and functional proteomics;
- Integration of proteomic and other ‘omics’ approaches/data (i.e., ‘multiomics’ and systems biology);
- Methodology and technology developments;
- Bioinformatics, data processing/integration, and statistical analysis, including the application of AI to proteomics research;
- Translational proteomics for precision medicine, including clinical validation;
- Proteome dynamics;
- A willingness to spend sufficient time to contribute to the development of the journal with passion and carefully considered critical insight;
- Within 10 years of achieving their Ph.D.
Benefits for Early Career Editorial Board Members include:
- A certificate recognizing their role as an Early Career Editorial Board Member will be provided. The term of Early Career Editorial Board membership is two years and can then be renewed;
- The CVs of Early Career Editorial Board Members will be publicized on journal media platforms to improve academic visibility;
- An opportunity to be promoted to an Editorial Board Member based on contributions;
- The journal will regularly acknowledge those who participate in the peer review process on the journal’s website;
- Opportunities to exchange ideas with internationally influential researchers in this field; opportunities to participate in or host annual meetings and online seminars organized by the Editor(s)-in-Chief and Editorial Board Members;
- The benefit of page charge waivers, enabling you to publish at least one paper per year in Proteomes.
Responsibilities of Early Career Editorial Board Members include:
- Publicizing and promoting the journal at academic conferences, within their institutions, and among peers;
- Selecting high-quality articles and preparing bilingual media content for promotion on social media platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn and WeChat;
- Reviewing at least one, and no more than three, manuscripts per year;
- Inviting submissions from leading local and international scientists in their respective research fields.

Selection process:
- Initial screening of application materials → selection by the Editor(s)-in-Chief in consultation with relevant Editorial Board Members → email notification → issuing a certificate of appointment.
