Orthopedics and Rehabilitation
A section of Prosthesis (ISSN 2673-1592).
Section Information
The Orthopedics and Rehabilitation section focuses on the development, clinical application, and functional outcomes of prosthetic devices for the musculoskeletal system. We welcome research on limb and joint replacements, from surgical techniques and implant design to postoperative rehabilitation and long-term patient outcomes. This section bridges engineering innovation with clinical practice, with particular emphasis on restoring mobility and quality of life.
Topics of interest include the following:
- Limb prostheses (upper and lower extremity);
- Joint arthroplasty (hip, knee, shoulder, and ankle);
- Biomechanics and gait analysis;
- Osseointegration for prosthetic attachment;
- Prosthetic control systems and human–machine interfaces;
- Rehabilitation protocols and outcome measures;
- Prosthetic complications (infection, loosening, and wear);
- Pediatric and geriatric prosthetics;
