Young Investigator Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Membranes 2023 Young Investigator Award is Dr. David Martin Warsinger.
Dr. David Martin Warsinger is an Assistant Professor of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, USA. He received his PhD in 2015 and has over one hundred published research outcomes, about 85% are on membranes, including membrane fabrication, new membrane processes, and membrane applications to water treatment, desalination, and HVAC. Dr. David Martin Warsinger received his training from some of the finest membrane senior scientists, including John Lienhard at MIT (PhD) and Menachem Elimelech at Yale (Post-Doctoral). In total, he has raised >$6.9M, largely as the primary PI, with some funds as Co-PI, and the vast majority of these projects were on membrane technologies. He is also involved in startup companies for separation science, including co-inventing the core technology for Batch Reverse Osmosis, which he is working to commercialize with Harmony Desalting. He is also the Chief Scientific Advisor for Promethium, which is commercializing HVAC treatment systems that remove contaminants such as the bioaerosols that carry COVID. Please join us in congratulating Dr. David Martin Warsinger for his outstanding achievements.
As the awardee, Dr. David Martin Warsinger will receive an honorarium of CHF 2000, an offer to publish a paper free of charge before the end of 2024 in Membranes after peer-review, and an electronic certificate.
We would like to thank all the nominators from various fields of study for their participation and all the Award Committee Members for their evaluation of the many excellent nominations.
