Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Control and automation in their broadest sense play a fundamental role in process industries. Automatic control systems involve mathematics more than is usual in other engineering disciplines. Even though the subject has a strong mathematical foundation, emphasis throughout the literature is not on mathematical rigor or formal derivation (unless they contribute to the understanding of the concept) but, instead, on the methods of application associated with the analysis and design of the feedback system. Advances in sensors, actuators, computation technology, and communication networks help provide the necessary tools for the implementation of control hardware. Practical applications for this control method are aimed toward a variety of relevant scientific research fields that incorporate robotics and automation in applications. The scope of this Special Issue is to present and discuss new trends in the design, control, and applications of control systems, robots, and mechatronic systems.

The aim of this Special Issue is to provide an opportunity for international researchers to share and review recent advances in the foundations, integration architectures, and applications of control systems and robotics. The Special Issue aims to solicit original, full-length articles on new findings and developments from researchers, academics, and industrial practitioners in the field of control systems and robotics.

We welcome original high-quality papers previously unpublished that address recent results for complex systems (nonlinear dynamic systems, complex dynamic networks, stochastic systems, chaotic nonlinear systems, complex mechanical structures, robots, etc.).

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Mathematical and Computational Applications is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
