Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to introduce the third volume of this Special Issue, "Control Theory and Applications". Following the impactful contributions in the first two editions, this third volume will continue to bridge advanced mathematical theory with real-world engineering challenges, offering a platform for innovative research in control systems.
This edition will maintain a strong focus on both foundational methods and emerging trends, including data-driven control, AI-enhanced system design, and resilient control strategies for complex dynamic environments. We also aim to emphasize applications in robotics, biomedical engineering, industrial automation, and sustainable energy systems—areas where control theory plays an increasingly vital role.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
Intelligent control systems using machine learning and AI;
Modeling and control of fractional-order, stochastic, and distributed parameter systems;
Advanced numerical simulation and digital twin technologies;
Control of networked, multi-agent, and cyber-physical systems;
Robotics, mechatronics, and autonomous system control;
Biomedical and bio-inspired control systems;
Energy system optimization and grid control;
Adaptive, robust, and model predictive control strategies;
Real-time control applications in industrial and soft processes.
We invite researchers and practitioners to contribute their latest findings and developments in this rapidly evolving field. Your contributions will help shape the next generation of control methodologies and expand the frontiers of applied mathematics and engineering.
We look forward to your participation in this continued exploration of control theory and its transformative applications.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Mathematics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
