Italian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics (SIGG)
Founded in 1950 in Florence (Italy), the Italian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics (SIGG) is currently one of the largest scientific societies of Geriatrics in Europe, with over 2,000 members. SIGG follows its original mission of promoting and coordinating scientific research in the field of Gerontology and Geriatrics, as well as addressing the serious and complex issue of aging in its social aspects. Through educational and cultural initiatives, it contributes to the professional and lifelong development of its members, with a particular focus on the training of young geriatricians.
