Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This issue will address the global burden of road injuries, with a particular focus on prevention. Road safety has emerged as a significant global public policy issue and UN member states have committed to a reduction in road traffic deaths of 50% by 2020 as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Systems approaches are essential to meet this target. This issue calls for papers that address road safety in the SDG era, with a focus on broad public health-focused approaches that not only address safe systems approaches but go beyond this to consider urban design, transport planning, active transport and the social determinants of health.
