Special Issue Information
The scope of this Special Issue is to disseminate research evidence reporting on the quality of maternal healthcare. This may include aspects relating to maternal healthcare, e.g., maternity care at any system level—from the local level (e.g., acute care units, primary care clinics) to government and policy levels (e.g., national and international). An applied framework of quality is encouraged and single multiple dimensions of quality may be reported upon.
The healthcare sector may include any setting, including acute care, community care, and residential care for mothers and newborns. Research may be quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods or reviews that meet established review standards, and data may be from primary or secondary sources.
