Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Nursing and midwifery form the cornerstone of person-centered healthcare delivery, with their practice directly influencing consumer safety, clinical outcomes, and overall care quality. In an era of rapidly evolving medical technologies, complex clinical needs, and growing emphasis on value-based care, the continuous development, improvement, and rigorous evaluation of clinical practice are not just beneficial but essential. This Special Issue addresses the imperative of bridging the gap between evidence, innovation, and everyday practice in these vital professions. It seeks to showcase cutting-edge initiatives that propel the fields forward, ensuring that care is not only effective and safe but also equitable and efficient.
This Special Issue, “Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development: Improvement and Evaluation,” aims to collate high-quality research and comprehensive reviews that explore the entire cycle of advancing clinical practice. We seek to illuminate strategies for successful practice development, methodologies for sustainable quality improvement, and robust frameworks for evaluating their impact on both consumer and health system outcomes.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and systematic reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:
-Implementation and Evaluation of Evidence-Based Practice Models;
-Quality Improvement Initiatives and Consumer Safety Outcomes;
-Adoption of Clinical Guidelines and Impact on Care Quality;
-Measuring and Improving Nursing- or Midwifery-Sensitive Indicators;
-Innovations in Person and Family-Centered Care;
-Leadership, Change Management, and Sustainability in Practice Improvement;
-Interprofessional Collaboration for Enhanced Care Delivery;
-The Role of Healthcare Policy in Shaping Nursing and Midwifery Practice;
-Use of Digital Health Technologies in Practice Development and Evaluation.
We look forward to hearing from you.
