Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue will focus on how physical activity interventions can be used to promote mental health and emotional well-being across a variety of settings and populations. As mental health becomes an increasingly important public health priority, there is a growing need for evidence-based strategies that go beyond clinical approaches and harness the power of physical activity as a preventive and therapeutic tool.
We encourage submissions addressing the following topics:
- The effects of physical activity programs on mental health outcomes (e.g., stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem);
- Interventions implemented in schools, families, communities, or workplace environments;
- The use of digital tools and technologies for promoting physical activity with mental health benefits;
- Protocols and training programs designed with a focus on mental health;
- Multidisciplinary or cross-sector approaches combining physical, psychological, and social dimensions;
- Life-course approaches addressing different age groups and vulnerable populations;
- Interventions designed to support individuals with diagnosed mental health disorders.
This Special Issue aims to bring together contributions that demonstrate how physical activity, when implemented intentionally and appropriately, can play a significant role in enhancing mental health and overall well-being in diverse real-world contexts.
