Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Delirium treatment is a matter of fierce debate interdisciplinarily and neuroleptics as well as benzodiazepines are only considered as rescue medications. The international guidelines differ widely in that respect. Further research is needed on the different phenomenologies and on the different settings that call for treatment. Moreover, delirium course and prognoses might be different with different approaches and in different settings.

This Special Issue will, therefore, focus on delirium management strategies, pharmacological and non-pharmacological, on symptom detection and specific treatment and on the specific needs and benefits of different settings.

High-quality research and review articles on these topics will be considered. The main scope of the issue is to highlight the different phenomenologies of delirium that call for different treatment approaches.
