Structural Geology and Tectonics
A section of Geosciences (ISSN 2076-3263).
Section Information
The Structural Geology and Tectonics Section publishes original and top-quality research papers as well as review papers from all fields of the discipline, including field, laboratory, geochronological, petro-structural, geophysical, remote-sensing and modeling studies. The section aims at gathering papers describing and explaining the structures and the overall evolution of the lithosphere and focusing on deformation processes at all scales, from the crystal to the plate. The section provides a natural home for articles seeking a better understanding of the formation and deformation of sedimentary basins and the building of mountains in their geodynamic framework. Since our goal is to improve our knowledge of the processes that shape our planet and control georesource generation and accumulation, regular papers and Special Issues addressing interdisciplinary topics such as short-term/long-term interactions of tectonic/deep and surfaces processes, rheology, metamorphism and deformation and fluid-rock-tectonics interactions are particularly encouraged.
