Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Evaluation Committee, we are pleased to announce the winners of the Geosciences 2020 Travel Award: Dr Benjamin M.P. Chandler, Dr. Caterina Gozzi, Dr. Christian Schiffer, Dr. Hong Chin NG, and Dr. Ismael Foroughi (in alphabetical order), who will receive 500 Swiss Francs each towards the cost of participation at their chosen conferences.
Dr. Benjamin M.P. Chandler is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Physical Geography, Stockholm University, Stockholm, Sweden. His research interests are focused on understanding the extent and dynamics of glaciers, principally through investigating sediment-landform signatures in terrestrial glacial environments. He will attend the EGU 2020, Vienna (Vienna, Austria, 3–8 May 2020).
Dr. Caterina Gozzi is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Department of Earth Sciences, University of Florence, Florence, Italy. Her research concerns the multidisciplinary study of River catchment, investigating the interlinks between the chemical composition of surface waters and stream sediments and the landscape properties of the basin. She will attend the 2nd International Conference on Contaminated Sediments (Bern, Switzerland, 14–18 June 2020).
Dr. Christian Schiffer is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Earth Sciences, Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden. His research interests include seismology (receiver functions, tomography), geophysics (gravity, heat flow, stress field), geodynamic evolution of the North Atlantic-Arctic region, plate tectonics, and global crust–mantle dynamics. He will attend the GSA meeting 2020 (Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 25–28 October 2020).
Dr. Hong Chin NG is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bristol, Bristol, UK. His research interests including isotope geochemistry, ocean and fjord biogeochemistry, climate change and ocean circulation. He will attend the EGU 2020 (Vienna, Austria, 3–8 May 2020).
Dr. Ismael Foroughi is a postdoctoral Researcher in University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, Canada. Ismael is now cooperating with FUGRO on projects involving geoid computations using the UNB-developed technique. He will attend the EGU 2020 (Vienna, Austria, 3–8 May 2020).
We wish to congratulate Dr Benjamin M.P. Chandler, Dr. Caterina Gozzi, Dr. Christian Schiffer, Dr. Hong Chin NG, and Dr. Ismael Foroughi on their accomplishments.
