Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The increasing frequency of natural disasters (such as earthquakes and geo-hazards) and technological threats poses unprecedented challenges to critical infrastructure. The overall focus of this Special Issue is to explore and advance the resilience of civil and transportation infrastructure systems when subjected to these complex disruptions. The scope encompasses a wide range of topics, including risk and vulnerability assessment, resilience quantification, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies—such as machine learning, uncertainty analysis, and intelligent detection—for structural evaluation.
The purpose of this issue is to gather innovative research that transitions infrastructure management from reactive damage repair to proactive, data-driven resilience planning. While existing literature often addresses single-hazard scenarios using traditional empirical models, this Special Issue will usefully supplement current knowledge by emphasizing multi-hazard frameworks and advanced computational techniques. By bridging the gap between artificial intelligence and geotechnical/structural engineering, this issue aims to provide dynamic, robust solutions for modern infrastructure challenges. We invite original research articles and comprehensive reviews that push the boundaries of current resilience paradigms.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. GeoHazards is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
