Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
As the international financial institutions and global community intensifies efforts to combat climate change, central banks and monetary authorities are increasingly called upon to play a proactive role in supporting climate-aligned economic transitions. This Special Issue invites scholarly contributions that explore how monetary policy frameworks, central bank mandates, and financial system oversight can be leveraged to advance climate goals without compromising macroeconomic stability.
To facilitate the financial institutions across the globe, we welcome theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented research that examines the evolving responsibilities of central banks in the age of climate risk. Topics may include the integration of climate-related financial risks into monetary policy, green quantitative easing, climate stress testing, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and sustainability, and the coordination between monetary and fiscal policy for climate action.
This issue aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and provide actionable insights for policymakers, economists, and financial institutions seeking to align monetary policy with environmental sustainability.
