Best PhD Thesis Award
Launched in 2026, the Dermatopathology Best PhD Thesis Award recognizes young scholars for producing outstanding PhD and MD theses in the fields of dermatopathology, clinical dermatology, and investigative dermatology, and encourages the continuation of their outstanding work and further contributions to their field. The application process for this award is open from April to October every year, with the winners announced in December.
The Prize:
– CHF 500;
– A certificate;
– A voucher to waive the Article Processing Charges (APCs) for one submission in the journal (subject to peer review), which is valid for one year.

Eligibility and Requirements
– The candidate must be a PhD/MD student or recently qualified PhD/MD who has produced an outstanding PhD/MD thesis;
– The PhD/MD thesis must be their original work;
– The PhD/MD thesis must be defended in 2026.
List of Documents for Application
– An executive summary of the PhD/MD thesis in English containing around 3000 words;
– A letter from the PhD/MD supervisor recommending the candidate for consideration for this award;
– The candidate’s CV, including a list of publications connected with the thesis;
– An electronic copy of the PhD/MD thesis;
– A scanned copy of the PhD/MD diploma, or a certificate of studying at a school or research institute as a PhD/MD student going to graduate or participate in graduation thesis defenses.
