Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
As the Editor-in-Chief of the Dentistry Journal, I am pleased to announce the winners of the 2019 Dentistry Journal Travel Award: Jop Verweij (Post-doctoral fellow at the Leiden University Medical Center, Netherlands) and Helen Rogers (Ph.D. student, University of Sheffield, UK).
Dr. Jop Verweij’s research involves 3D autotransplantation of teeth. He will present his research “Autotransplantation with a 3D printed replica of the donor tooth minimizes extra-alveolar time and intra-operative fitting attempts: a multi-center prospective study of 91 transplanted teeth” at the AAOMS 101st Annual Meeting, 16–21 September 2019, in Boston, USA.
Mr. Helen Rogers’s research involves the development of a child-centered utility measure of dental caries suitable for use in economic evaluation. He will present his research “Child-centred validation of a classification system for a caries-specific utility measure” at International Association of Paediatric Dentistry Congress, 3–7 July 2019, in Cancun, Mexico.
It was a difficult decision, given the exceptional quality of about forty applications for the award, and, on behalf of the award committee, we would like to thank all applicants and to congratulate Dr. Jop Verweij and Mr. Helen Rogers for their accomplishments.
The award consists of 500 Swiss Francs to attend any academic conference in 2019.
