Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Colorimetric and fluorescence sensors have attracted considerable attention for many sensing applications due to their potential for rapid analysis, their cost-effectiveness, ease of use, as well as their simple and easy detection systems or ability to aid naked-eye observations without the need for sophisticated instrumentation—all of which have been important trends in the past two decades.

Currently, a number of colorimetric and fluorescence sensors have been developed for the sensing of different molecules and ions (cations, anions, and neutral species), and the activity level of key biological substances in vivo (metal ions, active oxygen, active nitrogen, biological molecules, etc.) is closely related to the occurrence and treatment of diseases, as well as the absorption and distribution of drugs.

The scope of this Special Issue encompasses, but is not restricted to, the following areas: colorimetric and fluorescent sensing principles and mechanisms, organic and biosensors, analytical chemistry, and biomedical applications.

This Special Issue will provide a forum for the latest research activities in the field of colorimetric/fluorescence sensors. We hope that researchers active in this area will join us to promote activities in this field of research. We cordially invite you to submit an article to this Special Issue. We welcome short communications, full research articles, and timely reviews.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Chemosensors is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
