Food Solutions for Health and Sustainability
A section of Challenges (ISSN 2078-1547).
Section Information
Healthy and sustainable food systems are essential for ensuring both human well-being and planetary health. This section of Challenges explores innovative approaches to food production, distribution, and consumption that promote nutritional health while reducing environmental impact. It also examines the threats posed by current practices, particularly the large-scale production and consumption of ultra-processed foods, which harm both human health and the environment. By highlighting solutions such as regenerative agriculture, plant-based diets, and food waste reduction, this section aims to advance food systems that foster both population health and environmental sustainability. We publish regular research papers, viewpoints and reviews, and invite all authors to explain the relevance of their work to advancing well-being and sustainability for planetary health.
