CO2 Utilization and Conversion
A section of C (ISSN 2311-5629).
Section Information
This section of C is dedicated to publishing original research, development and innovation studies of carbon dioxide utilisation and conversion spanning across multiple disciplines. All CO2-to-X approaches are welcome including thermochemical, electrochemical, photochemical methods or their combinations to make carbon monoxide, formate, hydrocarbons such as methane and ethylene, alcohols such as methanol, ethanol and propanol, dimethyl ether and other relevant added-value products. Particularly important is the sustainability of the proposed approaches in terms of foreseeable or proposed applications. Manuscript submissions are encouraged but not limited to the following overarching areas:
- Catalysis: New or improved metal-based, metal-free, or hybrid CO2 conversion catalysts
- Technologies: New or improved systems and devices for CO2 conversion aiming to achieve industry-relevant performance such as gas phase reactors, electrolysers, gas diffusion electrodes, and photochemical reactors
- Mechanisms: Computer-based studies of CO2 conversion pathways to aid the design of better catalysts
- Dynamics: Studies of reactor and reaction dynamics in CO2 conversion systems
- Life cycle assessments: Evaluation of carbon footprint of proposed new catalysts and technologies
