Dear Colleagues,

As Editor-in-Chief of Atmosphere, I am pleased to announce the winners of the Atmosphere 2017 Travel Awards for Young Investigations: Travel Awards were granted to Dr. Carolin Klinger, a postdoctoral researcher at NOAA Earth System Laboratory, Chemical Science Division, Boulder, CO, USA, for her outstanding research on the effects of 3D thermal radiation on cloud development, both in terms of cloud dynamics and microphysics; and to Dr. Riccardo Buccolieri, an assistant professor at the Dipartimento di Scienze e Tecnologie Biologiche ed Ambientali, University of Salento, Lecce, Italy. He is working on air flow and pollutant dispersion in an urban environment and on the effects of morphology and vegetation on city ventilation through experimental and modelling approaches.

Editor-in-Chief,
Prof. Dr. Robert W. Talbot
