Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

As the world advances toward sustainable development, artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly emerged as a critical driving force for innovation and collaboration in both natural and social sciences. This Special Issue aims to explore the profound impact of AI at the intersection of these disciplines, with a particular focus on how interdisciplinary cooperation can foster the synergy of technology, culture, and society to achieve sustainable development goals.

In the realm of natural sciences, AI has been extensively applied to advance climate change modeling and prediction, biodiversity conservation, precision medicine development, and clean energy optimization. By accelerating data analysis and model construction, AI provides scientific support for environmental protection and ecosystem restoration, delivers transformative progress in health and disease management, and addresses critical global challenges central to sustainable development.

Concurrently, the innovative applications of AI in social sciences are reshaping cultural education paradigms, artistic creation methodologies, and strategies for social governance. AI not only introduces new pathways for educational innovation but also enhances the digital preservation of cultural heritage and revolutionizes artistic expression, empowering the long-term flourishing of societal culture.

We cordially invite scholars from the fields of scientific research, education, arts, and social governance to contribute to the exploration of opportunities and challenges posed by AI in building a sustainable future. This Special Issue will feature high-quality original research and review articles that showcase the latest advancements in AI technologies and provide deep insights from multidisciplinary perspectives. The objective is to promote environmental conservation, inclusive cultural education, innovation in the arts, and the modernization of social governance, thereby offering theoretical and practical guidance for achieving global sustainable development goals.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Applications of AI in climate change modeling and prediction;
  • AI-powered solutions for ecological protection and biodiversity monitoring;
  • Innovative AI-driven approaches to clean energy technologies;
  • Applications of AI in precision medicine and health management;
  • Digital preservation of cultural heritage and technological innovation;
  • AI-driven educational innovation and personalized learning pathways.

I look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. AI is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
