Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The article addresses a trending topic and has several strengths. However, I have the following suggestions for improvement:

Abstract is well-developed and provides all the necessary information to engage the reader. It effectively serves as a concise summary of the article.

Keywords are appropriately chosen.

The introduction provides a solid theoretical background on the topic. However, the research gap could be more precisely articulated. The statement, "However, the integration of digital elements in education has received little attention so far" should be further justified, explained, and supported with some additional arguments and relevant literature.

Methods and Materials: This section is thoroughly presented, offering all the data and information needed for the reader to understand the entire process, including selection, data collection, and the development of the taxonomy with its three levels.

Results: As a reader, I found it difficult to follow the content from lines 156-211. The text in these lines is dense, with several references interrupting the flow, which causes the reader to lose focus. Could these results be presented in a different format, such as a table? The same suggestion applies to lines 264-276 and possibly 282-288. Since this is the results section, it would be beneficial to use more tables to present the data and findings clearly and effectively.

Discussion: The discussion is well-written, offering a clear interpretative approach that includes the strengths and limitations of the study in relation to its objective (to provide a comprehensive overview of the methods and target values used to evaluate teaching concepts, with a particular emphasis on the incorporation of digital elements in higher education). The conclusion appropriately summarizes the article with essential final remarks.

References: The references are relevant and current, mostly from the last five years.

Overall, I find this article to be a relevant contribution and suitable for publication in Trends in Higher Education.
