Organoids are stem cell-derived 3D multicellular tissue constructs that mimic some of the structures and functions of a corresponding organ. They provide unique opportunities for the study of inheritable genetic disorders, infectious diseases, and cancer, among others. Using organoids as tools in both basic and translational research has enormous potential.
As one of the top four scholarly journal publishers in the world [1,2], celebrating its twenty-fifth anniversary this year [3], we are glad to announce the addition of Organoids (ISSN: 2674-1172) [4]—a unique journal focusing on all aspects of organoid development and technological advancements towards applications in tissue engineering, model organ development, and biomedicines. This journal follows an author-centered philosophy to ensure that findings can be shared quickly with other researchers worldwide to stimulate fruitful research activities without delay.
We welcome the broad research community with expertise in organoids research to contribute to the development of this platform, with the shared goal of accelerating the advancement of scientific knowledge in the field.
As with other MDPI journals, we will maintain a fast and rigorous peer-review process for this new journal. We hope that you will enjoy publishing with us.
