Cover Story: This paper presents a compressed sensing-based framework for accurate identification of building footprints from remotely sensed images. By projecting local image patches into a low-dimensional compressed space and classifying them using a radial basis function neural network, the method reduces computational complexity while preserving essential structural details. Experiments on diverse, high-resolution datasets demonstrate strong performance in detecting building boundaries and support the efficient updating of geospatial maps. View this paper
